The history behind our business name.

“Tahoma” is derived from the Lushootseed (a language spoken by several Native American tribes in the Puget Sound region) name for what is now known as Mount Rainier.

The original term is believed to be “təqʷuʔbəʔ” or “Tacoma,” which means “mother of waters” or “that frozen water.” 

Tahoma holds significant spiritual and cultural importance. It is often revered in local myths and stories as a sacred place.
